FLO MINTON

ORIGINAL WORKS IN WOOD & POLYMER CLAY

ABOUT

Flo Minton is an artisan woodworker and polymer clay artist based in New Hampshire and a juried member of the New Hampshire Art Association.

Each piece in the collection is created using locally sourced wood from the forests and beaches of New England. Some of the wood is sanded and stained, some is charred and some is left in its natural state, giving each piece its own unique character. All of the stains and washes used to color the wood are water based. A different color stain or wash is selected for each piece, chosen to compliment the colors of the polymer clay inlays.

The polymer clay mosaics are individually crafted and then carefully cut and laid into the hand cut channels in the wood. The unpredictable and spontaneous nature of this process insures that no two resulting pieces are exactly alike.

Before setting the wood into its base, each piece receives a hand rubbed finish using various combinations of paste wax, tung oil, danish oil and beeswax.

Commissions and special requests for colors and sizes to match your decor or specific tastes are welcomed. If you like a piece that has already been sold, reach out and you can order a similar piece.
